Sid has owned, rode and maintained Harley Davidson motorcycles every year since 1978. Antique motorcycle restoration is an art and a passion for Sid who enjoys bringing old bikes back to life.
Although Sid has worked on motorcycles his entire adult life, Sid's Cycles officially opened in March 2010 and has went from a one-man operation to a full service shop with several employees.
This 1947 Knucklehead came to Sid's Cycles as a collection of parts from swap meets with the engine and transmission already complete. Sid completely assembled the parts leaving the original patina as requested by the customer. We completely rebuilt the star hubs and laced the 16" wheels. The springer front fork was rebuilt. New linings were installed on the drum brake shoes.
The bike was completely rewired with the original style cloth-covered wire harness. Headlight, tail light and other electrical components were re-worked to perform as new then the bike was test driven and adjusted to run as a '47 Knucklehead should. This customer still rides this bike today and is satisfied with our motorcycle restoration.
1967 Electra Glide
This 1967 Electra Glide was completely restored from the frame up for a customer. It was stripped down to the bare frame. The frame and tins were repainted. The generator Shovelhead engine comletely rebuilt, rewired with a new reproduction wiring harness. New aftermarket wheels and shocks were installed. Original speedometer was sent off for complete restoration.
The transmission was refurbished with new seals and bushings. Then after the entire bike was restored, this Harley was tested, tuned and broken in for 100 miles prior to the customer picking it up. The customer picked up the bike and rode it 70 miles home and is still happy with our motorcycle restoration.
